One Smart Cookie K9 Services Inc. was named after COOKIE, our beautiful little Blue Heeler/Whippet who crossed the rainbow bridge on August 23/19, just after her 8th birthday. Everyone thinks that their dog is the best dog and none of us are wrong!
She was truly an amazing dog; very loyal, very loving, and very SMART as you probably gathered from the name of our business. She, along with our other dogs TIGGER (Shepherd x), BANDIT (Red Heeler / Rottweiler x), and LILY (Blue Heeler) (who are now romping with COOKIE across the rainbow bridge), and LOKI (Red Heeler), KALY (Dalmatian) and SMUDGE (Dalmatian) are the inspiration behind everything we do! YES, we are very partial to the high-energy, busy-brain dogs which likely tells you a whole lot about us too!
It is also a play on words being that we can use a 'cookie' in a smart way; positively reinforcing behaviors that we want to encourage and reinforce in our dogs.
+R training is motivating to the dog; it builds trust and a strong bond between the dog and their human companion. It is force-free and involves choice (a thinking dog...) therefore training is not stressful, but actually fun! Hence 'One Smart Cookie'.
Andrea Davis is the founder, director, and head trainer of One Smart Cookie K9 Services Inc. She has acquired many certifications in both the fitness and the dog training industry and has been serving her patrons since 2002. February 9/19, we opened the doors to our NEW training facility in Lacombe at 5210 E Wolf Creek Drive
What exactly do we do?
Well, we help bridge the communication gap between dogs and their human companions using positive reinforcement and fear-free methods which is scientifically proven to be the most effective and minimally aversive and works across all species.
WOW, that’s a mouthful!
In other words, we provide the tools you need to help you and your dog improve your relationship which reduces unwanted behaviors as well as stress and frustration at BOTH ends of the leash…

Why us?
One Smart Cookie K9 Services founder & head trainer, Andrea Davis is an Alumni member as well as a certified Dog Trainer through the Animal Behavior College where she graduated with honors.
Recently she became a Mentor Trainer with the Animal Behavior College, so ABC students can choose to do their practicum hours with her!
Andrea has completed a variety of CEC and certification courses through ABC, KPA , Fear Free Pets, Canine Principles, Fenzi Dog Sports Academy and Do More With Your Dog!
Andrea is also certified in Standard First Aid & CPR through The Canadian Red Cross as well as Pet First Aid certified through Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid.
Andrea is an adjudicator for The LifeLine Canada Foundation & Companion Paws Therapy Dog certification program along with providing foster support.
Andrea is also an adjudicator for the Central Alberta Humane Society K9 Therapy Dog certification program, and she works with the shelter dogs.
Andrea is a Certified Professional Canine Fitness Trainer (CPCFT).
We are one of Canada's FIRST K9 FIT CLUB® Licensees and Certified Master Trainers!
We are a member of the Alberta Force Free Alliance
We have pledged that we are educated in or will upgrade our education through the AFFA in the latest science based, force-free methods for companion animals. We will not intentionally harm or intimidate any animal in our care nor will we promote other trainers who use and adhere to alpha-based, aversive methodologies. We use the 95/5% rule to allot for emergency situations.
